It is an honor to be selected to exhibit paintings in the 2024 Flying Solo Exhibition at the BNA/Nashville International Airport show from March 5 - June 24, 2024. If you happen to be in the airport during this time, my exhibit "On the Wings of Dreams" can be found on level 1. You can also view it below!
"On the Wings of Dreams"
Oil on panel, 23 x 29 inches
$2,500.00
My wife Rhonda and I rented a cabin. We hiked and read books on our deck with the sounds of a waterfall through the woods. All our meals were prepared for us. We couldn't recall ever feeling so relaxed. I woke early to this scene of her sleeping and wondered what she might be dreaming of. I turned on a light behind me for just enough lig
"Patterns Fall"
Oil on panel, 13 x 17 inches
$885.00
This was a scene that my wife and I walked into one afternoon in Highlands, NC. When you're offered an afternoon and scenery as beautiful as this you just send up your praises and paint it.
"Geraniums"
Oil on panel, 24 x 18 inches
$1,725.00
We rode horses up to the Hensley Settlement at Cumberland Gap State Park. After being on horseback all morning and then walking through the cabins and outbuildings of the century old settlement, I felt like I had stepped back in time. As I stooped into the doorway of this outbuilding I was greeted by this scene, minus the geraniums. They were added w
"The Veteran"
Oil on panel, 24 x 30 inches
$2,900.00
A veteran cowboy with many years in the saddle and a man of few words. Also, a Veteran, willing to shed his blood for our freedom. The red, white and blue color scheme was intentional and the red paint dripping off the bottome of the painting symbolic. In memory of our dad, Howard T. Keas, an infantryman in World War II and a Purple Heart recipient
"Deckhand"
Oil on panel, 16 x 20 inches
$1,280.00
Many years ago, I did a large watercolor of this image from a photograph given to me by friend and fellow artist, Scott Paulk. The painting was purchased by a large hotel but was lost in a flood. I decided to paint a smaller version in oil and give life back to the deck hand - may he live on!
"Stars and Stripes"
Oil on panel, 15 x 21 inches
$1,280.00
We took our kids to several air shows when they were young and we loved the aerial acrobatics. I liked the way the light bounced off the surfaces of the planes when they landed. I never got the high-quality photos that friend and fellow artist, Scott Paulk did, so I borrowed one of his again. Thanks again, Scott.
"Granary Porch at Night, Evins Mill"
Oil in panel, 22 x 28 inches
$2,500.00
One of those places you walk into and know you must paint it. The old mill was lit by a streetlamp at night and the shadows it was casting captured my imagination. The light hitting the swing seemed to set it ablaze. You can feel the history and the ethereal quality in the still of the night.
"The Clearing"
Oil on panel, 28 x 26 inches
$2,900.00
A scene from Cades Cove with some artistic license taken. I changed some cabins and outbuildings, moved some trees around and traded the cold gray day of winter for one of a passing storm having just moved through. One of those magical times when the painting just seemed to paint itself.
"House on the Hill"
Oil on canvas, 20 x 20 inches
$1,600.00
One late afternoon I checked into a hotel in Virginia, and this was the scene outside my window. I got some pictures and a couple of quick sketches while there was still good light. I came back several times after finding an abandoned farm adjacent to the house that I could roam around on at my leisure and am still getting paintings from.
"Where Trails Might Lead"
Oil on canvas, 30 x 20 inches
$2,400.00
A painting of our oldest grandson Wyatt. I was thinking about how much the world has changed in my lifetime and about the astounding new advances he will witness and the many paths he will travel. So I added a toy jet to his hand to contrast the T-rex on his t-shirt and put him on a meandering path with the contrail above him.
"Paint Profile"
Oil on panel, 12 x 12 inches
$500.00
This guy and the calves below are from many days of roaming around at the UT Agriculture campus. Another spot that I will be getting inspiration and paintings from for many years to come.
"Calves"
Oil on panel, 12 x 12"
$500.00

I paint the places, people and things that catch my eye and strike a chord with me. I prefer not to be verbose or philosophical about the process. I like what the artist Carl Sublett said about painting...."the true value of a man's art, I believe, does not depend on the capacity with which it is received by others, but rather the degree of personal conviction exercised in a lifetime of creating it. Because I believe no statement is too small to make, when I have something to say I put it down immediately and try not to concern myself with the dimensions of the outcome. No matter how ambitious the effort, no painting is ever more than a fragment of the whole. If I look for too much, I may lose all."
"Samples", Oil on canvas, 31.25 x 41.25 inches framed. $3,600.00
